In Term 3, students and staff from Our Lady’s College and Mary MacKillop College, under the auspices of Catholic Mission, will participate in a unique Tiwi Islands Immersion 7-day program. This will deepen our knowledge and understanding of the present realities, history and culture of a remote Aboriginal community.

We were privileged to be visited last term by Sr Anne Gardiner AM from Bathurst Island NT, accompanied by renowned artists and curators of the Patakijiyali Museum on the Tiwis, Ms Fiona Kerinauia and Ms Ancilla Kurrupwu.

This was a deep learning experience for our Year 9 students and one that many Australians would only dream about participating in.
